Author Guideliness
Author Guidelines for the Journal of Early Education and Parenting (JEEP)
The Journal of Early Education and Parenting (JEEP), published by the Sahabat Literasi Edukasi dan Publikasi Foundation, invites authors to submit high-quality manuscripts that align with the journal's focus on early childhood education, parenting, and interdisciplinary studies in related fields. To ensure a seamless submission, review, and publication process, authors are required to adhere to the following detailed guidelines.
1. General Requirements
Originality and Exclusivity
All submissions must be original works that have not been previously published and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts meet this requirement. To maintain integrity, JEEP uses plagiarism detection tools to screen all submissions. Manuscripts must have a similarity index of no more than 25% to be considered for review. Submissions exceeding this limit will be returned to the authors for revision or rejected outright.
Language
Manuscripts must be written in English with clear and concise language. Authors are strongly encouraged to proofread their work or seek professional editing services to avoid grammatical or typographical errors that may hinder the review process.
Types of Articles
JEEP welcomes several types of manuscripts, including:
- Research Articles: Presenting the results of original empirical research.
- Review Articles: Summarizing and critically analyzing existing literature on a specific topic.
- Conceptual Articles: Offering theoretical or practical insights into issues relevant to early childhood education and parenting.
Article Length
Manuscripts should generally be between 4,000 and 8,000 words, including the abstract, references, tables, and figures. Submissions that significantly exceed or fall short of this length may not be considered unless they provide strong justification.
Reference Management
Authors are required to use Zotero or Mendeley reference management software to format citations and references in APA (7th edition) style. This ensures accuracy and consistency across all submissions.
Formatting
Authors are required to use the official journal template, which can be downloaded from the JEEP website. This ensures uniformity and compliance with the journal's style guidelines.
2. Manuscript Structure
To maintain consistency and facilitate readability, manuscripts submitted to JEEP must follow the structure outlined below:
Title Page
The title page should include:
- A concise, informative title (no more than 20 words).
- Full names of all authors, along with their institutional affiliations.
- The email address of the corresponding author for communication purposes.
- ORCID iDs for all authors (highly recommended).
Abstract and Keywords
The manuscript must include an abstract of 150–250 words that clearly summarizes the research objectives, methodology, key findings, and conclusions. Following the abstract, include 3–5 keywords that accurately reflect the main themes of the article.
Introduction
The introduction should provide background information on the research topic, clearly state the research problem, and explain the study's objectives and significance.
Methodology
This section should detail the research design, participants, data collection methods, and analysis techniques used in the study. The description should be thorough enough to allow other researchers to replicate the study.
Results and Discussion
Authors should present their findings in a clear and systematic manner, supported by tables, figures, or other visual elements as necessary. The discussion should interpret the results in relation to the research objectives and existing literature, highlighting their implications and significance.
Conclusion
This section should provide a concise summary of the study’s main findings, practical implications, and potential avenues for future research.
References
All references must follow the APA (7th edition) style. Authors must ensure that all in-text citations are included in the reference list and vice versa. Use Zotero or Mendeley to generate references to maintain consistency and avoid errors.
Acknowledgments (Optional)
Authors may include acknowledgments to recognize individuals, institutions, or organizations that contributed to the research but do not qualify as authors.
3. Tables and Figures
Authors should include tables and figures that enhance the clarity of their findings.
- Tables must be editable, numbered consecutively, and include a brief, descriptive title placed above the table.
- Figures should be high-quality images (minimum resolution of 300 dpi) and provided in common file formats such as JPEG or PNG. Captions for figures should appear below the images
4. Submission Process
Online Submission
All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s Open Journal System (OJS) platform. Authors can access the submission system at JEEP Submission Page. Submissions by email or other methods will not be accepted.Peer-Review Process
JEEP follows a double-blind peer-review process to ensure unbiased and objective evaluation. Authors and reviewers remain anonymous during the review process. Manuscripts are typically reviewed within 4–8 weeks.Revisions
If revisions are required, authors must address reviewer comments thoroughly and resubmit their revised manuscript within the specified timeframe. Failure to meet the deadline may result in the manuscript being withdrawn from consideration.5. Ethical Considerations
Authorship
All individuals listed as authors must have made substantial contributions to the research. All authors must approve the final manuscript before submission.Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the research or its interpretation. Financial or other significant conflicts must be detailed in the manuscript.Data Availability
Authors are encouraged to make their data publicly available or provide it upon request to support transparency and further research.Corrections and Retractions
If a significant error or inaccuracy is discovered after publication, authors are required to promptly notify the editor and cooperate in issuing a correction or retraction.
